I’m a musician and a father. I live in North Carolina, I was raised in Colorado, started life in Kansas, and lived in Tennessee and Virginia on the way to NC.

I host Travis Book & Friends most Tuesdays at 185 King St. in Brevard, NC.

Around 8-12 Wednesdays a year I host The Travis Book Happy Hour live from the Grey Eagle in Asheville, NC. It streams free and live on Facebook.

I also ride bicycles. I love bicycles. Ever ride a bicycle? It’s the best.

In honor of International Single Speed Day (yester

In honor of International Single Speed Day (yesterday) and my cycling mentor Tim Watkins, I took his bike out for a ride today. This custom Ti Single Speed Rabbit was Tim’s bike, made for him, and it was bequeathed to me on his passing by his wife, Ginger. It’s been in Colorado with our friend Rob for the last 7 years and I finally got it to its new home September. I cleaned it up, put some fresh rubber on there, and a different cockpit and took it out for its inaugural rip on its new home trails in DuPont. Felt like a time capsule. I miss Tim.
