The Infamous Stringdusters
“For nearly 20 years I’ve been a member of the progressive neo-traditional bluegrass americana band The Infamous Stringdusters.”
Tuesday's at 185 King St
“Every Tuesday I’m not on tour or traveling I host Travis Book & Friends at 185 King St in my hometown of Brevard, NC. These shows are always unique, covering the entire range of American music styles from Folk to Bluegrass, Jazz to Blues, Old Time to Rock & Roll. I enlist the help of local and regional musicians to curate unique sets of music in this intimate and comfortable setting.”
Andy Falco & Travis Book Play Jerry Garcia
“Born of our deep appreciation for this musical icon, Stringdusters guitarist Andy Falco and I dive deep into the vast catalog of music by Jerrry Garcia. The duo format makes the songs the focus and we strive to represent the essence of each song we perform.”
The Travis Book Band
“The rare performances of this Brevard-based quartet have been called
’the best show I’ve ever seen’ by music aficionados. Featuring the virtuosic playing of Jeff Sipe (drums), Daniel Seriff (guitar), and Derrick Gardner (keys/trombone), this band can truly play anything and they do.
If you get a chance to see it, don’t miss it.”
Travis Book String Band
The Travis Book String Band plays original music in the old time style with guitar, clawhammer banjo and twin fiddles.
Shawn Lane & Travis Book
With careers spanning 40 years and stages across the United States and around the world, bluegrass legends Shawn Lane and Travis Book make an unparalleled bluegrass duo, steeped in old-school harmony and traditional instrumentation. Walking the path cut by the originators of Bluegrass, The Monroe Brothers, and furthered by the legendary duo of Skaggs & Rice, Lane and Book perform original and traditional bluegrass music with guitar and mandolin around a single vocal mic, mixing melodic picking with a vocal harmony blend that is unparalleled in their generation. As a member of Blue Highway, Shawn Lane forged a career as one of the greatest vocalists of his time, revered by his contemporaries for his clarity of tone and brilliant instrumental work. In the Infamous Stringdusters, Travis Book brings a richness and depth to every lead and harmony vocal he sings and a rhythmic sensibility honed over 25 years anchoring the best Jamgrass band on the planet. Together they create a modern take on the traditional artform of Brothers-style duet singing, drawing on their own original compositions and traditional and gospel songs from the storied history of Bluegrass.
The Broke Mountain
Bluegrass Band
“Formed in 2004, this band is the stuff of legend. It’s members would go on to form or revive Greensky Bluegrass, The Infamous Stringdusters, The Jon Stickley Trio, and Leftover Salmon. A reverse super-group, we’ve begun our reunion phase with appearances at festivals like Telluride Bluegrass, Strings & Sol, Rooster Walk, and Rockygrass. A new record is due in 2026.”
The Travis Book Happy Hour
“I’ve also waded into the podcast waters, having stumbled upon a totally unique take on the podcast during the pandemic. Not just an interview or conversation, episodes of the Happy Hour are recorded in front of a live audience once a month at 185 King St and are built around a collaborative musical experience. These shows are part of the Bluegrass Situation podcast network and can be found wherever you listen to podcasts.”
