Upton Bass
Founded in 1999, Gary Upton and his crew of dedicated luthiers build, repair and restore basses in a restored barn in Mystic, CT. I first stumbled upon Upton Bass in 2006 and began playing my first Upton in 2007. Since then the Upton team has delivered me 4 custom basses, each one better than the last. They make basses for all types of players and all price-ranges and also have a huge selection of basses from other makers in the upstairs showroom at The Barn. They also offer an ever-expanding catalog of bass accessories from cases to bows to rosin to pickups. A must-see for any bass enthusiast, the workshop and showroom is breathtaking. If you’re looking for a life-long relationship with a bass made just for you, look no further than Upton.
Earth Mountain Bicycle
I’ve been obsessively riding bikes, mostly mountain bikes, for almost 35 years. It’s one of my biggest joys in life and essential to my physical and mental health. I also have started or written some of my favorite songs while turning the pedals! Recently I’ve begun working with Earth Mountain Bicycle in downtown Brevard, NC. They work on all of my bikes and have helped me get my bike quiver dialed in with the best bikes from Trek, one of the most trusted brands in the U.S. A full-service repair and retail shop, fleet of gravel and mountain bikes, and the best selection of beers in town, Earth Mountain is your first and only stop for all of your cycling needs in Brevard, NC.
D’Addario Strings & Planet Waves Accessories
For years now I’ve relied on the strings and accessories from D’Addario. They make everything from strings to picks, cables to straps, and as a working musician and songwriter, I’m reliant on their vast catolog of strings and accessories to keep the show going and the ideas flowing.
Preston Thompson Guitars
Thompson Guitars was the first and remains the longest running supporter of The Travis Book Happy Hour. They make beautiful guitars in Sisters, OR and I’ve been fortunate to be playing my own DMA model for over three years now. They make guitars for the best musicians on the planet like Jon Stickley, Molly Tuttle and a little-known guitarist named Billy Strings. I’m grateful to be part of the family and urge you to consider Thompson when looking for your first, or next, dream guitar.
Sunheist Eyewear
Shane and Mary Heist launched a sunglasses company a few years ago and they’re making incredible shades in a huge variety of styles and colors and lens options. Based in GA, they’re down-to-earth folks and dedicated music lovers and outdoors-people. I was grateful when they agreed to sponsor The Travis Book Happy Hour and I wear these shades every single day. Check out Sunheist for your next pair of eyewear.
